According to Pro Football Reference, Gordon had 254 carries last season for 997 yards and a fantastic 10 touchdowns. Not to mention, he added 42 receptions for 419 yards and two touchdowns on top of that. Despite shaky offensive line play, the second-year player proved that he has the chops to be a dominant running back in this league. And now he has the chance to further make everyone believers in his ability.

The Chargers front office made life easier for the running back entering Year 3 in the draft. Forrest Lamp and Dan Feeney will bolster the offensive line and help open up more running lanes. If Gordon can stay healthy this season and Rivers gets the passing game going, Gordon may just run the Chargers to the AFC West Title and a home playoff game.

While I love to see headlines like this... They are as meaningless as the obligatory "How many wins will the Chargers have in 2017" threads that spring up in all fan forums between the end of July and the start of September.

Any given Sunday, injuries, weather... All factors. But what I want to see this team improve in most of all is mental toughness... Last two seasons they seemed like they could not win from behind. Of course McCoy hiding his face on the sidelines did not help.

Young teams respond to rah-rah college-style coaches and Anthony Lynn is that guy and McCoy was not that guy. Think Marty ... our guys will be pumped and that will help us in the 4th quarter of close games ...

I hope he is more than a rah-rah Marty guy. Marty's schtik got old at the end. His 'There is a gleam' speech lost its effectiveness. Not sure there are many Rah Rah coaches that are successful for long periods of time, at least I cant think of one from off the top of my head. Belicheck is not a rah rah guy.
